Ford Fiesta Gets B-Spec Modification Kit

These days, many compact, fuel-efficient vehicles are headed to the racetrack, and growing in popularity among racers in the Indian Trail and Charlotte areas. To get these smaller cars on the track, they must be modified to meet B-Spec requirements, which create an affordable class of entry-level racers using production vehicles by giving them stock engines. Ford and its racing division are out to help would-be racers by releasing an upgrade kit that can convert the 2012 Ford Fiesta into a B-Spec compliant racer.

In an effort to combat the fact that teens are the most likely age group to drive too fast or not buckle up, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA), Ford is introducing their SYNC MyKey technology designed to give parents the opportunity to set advanced safety controls for their teen drivers.

While Ford has recently confirmed that the 2013 Ford Escape won't be available with a hybrid powertrain; they're continuing to make strides in the reduction of their carbon footprint. The next-gen Escape lineup will get a complete makeover, with sharper styling and more fuel-efficient engines, and even an additional 25 plastic drinking bottles.

Wait, what? Yup, you read that right. Integrated into the carpet of each 2013 Ford Escape will be 25 20-oz?
